Principal / Senior Highway Engineers wanted to work on small to medium sized developments for a major Civil Engineering Consultancy in Leeds. This will be a permanent role.  The successful candidate will have a detailed working knowledge of highway design, maintenance and safety standards, and their application to the differing types of highway environment. An understanding of highway legislation and experience of working on similar S278 schemes is also required, as well as with private land owners and the general public in relation to highway matters. They will also have a comprehensive understanding of NRSWA and experience of liaison and coordination with statutory undertakers.   Services required will vary depending upon project, but will consist:- 1. Project Management of Highway and other Engineering Schemes including programming, budget control, adherence to the quality management systems, risk management and procurement. 2. Assessment of existing highways against the requirements of current standards and design briefs. 3. Senior / Principal Flood Risk specialist wanted for flood risk and and water management teams in Shefflield, Leeds Manchester, Peterbrough, East Grinstead and London. About the role The candidate will be a self-motivated individual able to provide: + Technical leadership of projects. + Mentoring of junior team members. + Produce high quality technical deliverables for the range of complex and challenging flood risk projects that we deliver for the Environment Agency, Local Authority and private clients. + Quality assurance reviews of other team members work. You will also be responsible for: + Working closely with the existing flood risk team which includes hydraulic modellers, hydrologists, civil engineers and flood risk specialists working at different levels. + You will work alongside our business development team to prepare proposals and bids. + Take a leading role to identify training and professional development needs of junior staff and in conjunction with business managers identify additional resource requirements to help grow your team. What you will do: + Hydraulic modelling of river, sewer or coastal processes  to deliver solutions to a wide range of clients. + Apply previous experience and knowledge in undertaking hydrological analyses including FEH, ReFH and WinFAP V3 methods. + Be responsible for the technical quality of work carried out within the team, provide supervision of projects, review and check work and provide leading technical skills as a technical specialist with minimal guidance. + Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues and work co-operatively across functions and business units to share information and ideas. + Work closely with other senior staff to enable delivery of the wider teams workload.
